Disabling Firefox's auto-highlighting

When I’m trying to highlight a URL from ImageShack or certain URLs the highlight feature will auto highlight the URL or in the case of ImageShack it will only highlight what is visible in part of the script and not the entire ULR script. This is amazingly annoying, is there a way to disable this auto-highlighting?

I can provide a pic if there is any uncertainty as to what I'm talking about.
