Playing Midi Files Through Firefox

I cannot do this, if a page has one of those "radio bars" on it for hearing the midi file, the radio bar doesn't show and Firefox tells me I need a plug in, I click on it to try getting the plug in, but am told it's not available, and to click on a link to get it, this link goes to the Quicktime website, and I'm assuming the next thing I'd be downloading is the whole Quicktime program, I don't want that, I have the "Alternative Quicktime" program for that kinda stuff. So other than opening IE through Firefox (I have that extension) is there anywhere where I could get that plug in for playing midi files?
