setting up wireless network

what do i need to do to connect a laptop with xp with a wireless card (it already is connected to the internet) and a computer with windows 98. the win 98 computer is connected to a 4 port wireless router, and the laptop recieves internet from the same wireless router. i want to network the two of them and be able to share printers. thanks

Click start>network places, look to the left and click set up home or small office network. The program will guide you, and if you have problems, post back. Good luck.

hey i ran the setup on both computers and both of them finished the setup. everytime i try to go through networkneighbor hood on my win98 computer, it says unable to access it or something and tells me to run some troubleshooter(which im unable to do anyways). im pretty sure its my win98 computer that has the problem. any help please???

have you got all the settings correct? you can usually obtain these from your service provider

Now just to be clear what you want to do is setup the local network between the XP computer and the 98 computer, so that you can share files/folders and also a printer? Both of these computers can already access the internet yes? Can you see the 98 computers shared folders from the XP computer at all? In other words do you have one way sharing or no sharing at all?

i cant even see anything on my windows 98 computer. They both have access to the internet. my laptop is wirelessly connected to the netgear router, and my windows 98 computer connects directly to the router through the 4 port hub in the back. i cant see anything on the 98 computer. ive done the "set up small/home network" on both computers, but my win 98 wont show any connections to the network. any body have a comment on this?

Do both computers have nic installed?

So both computers have the same workgroup name? The 98 computer isn't running any firewalls that could block local network traffic? File and printer sharing are enabled on both computers?

nic...YES, firewalls, none other than systemantic, which i dont think is blocking anything, and yes both of the group names are "NETGEAR", but its still not working. File sharing are on both of them.
