internet connection sharing problem

I have a small home network with two computers using a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC.

We were trying to set up printer sharing a couple of days ago and all of a sudden the client computer can't get through to the internet which connects through this one. This internet connection is fine and both LAN connections are fine but they won't ping either...I am at a loss really, if anyone can help I would be greatful!

What OS are the two computers running. Are you connected to the internet with DSL or modem? Have you checked the TCP/IP address on both? Do you have a firewall? Have you tried to disable it? Have you changed file & printer sharing? Can you see the other compuer with My network place?
