I have a file with an ext .ptn written with an old scanner program that I am unable to locate on the web. Is there any way to access this file? It is a tax return and I need it badly. Thanks Muz

Howdy:
Looks like a Paperport extension.. Do a search online for PaperPort.. It may be a free download..
If it is unavailable, I am afraid you are out of luck!!

PP viewer will not work on ptn files. I downloaded install drivers for old scanner and installed them but they do not work. I don't know if it is because I am running xp or because I don't have proper scanner connected. I can buy an old scanner like the one I used to copy file but it only works on 98 and under. Is there any way to install on xp if I buy this. There is a tax record that I need that is in the .ptn format. Thanks Muz

You could try the "Compatibility Mode" option in XP!!
