Logon failure with XP."Target account name incorrect"

Have new XP pro machine. Attemping to connect to LAN.
I have reloaded XP.
DHCP or static IP , cannot connect to mapped drives.
I can get to email and internet on our LAN. But not MAPPED DRIVES.
I have renamed computer. Changed IP and I am stumped . Got any ideas.

I am running a business lan. Using DNS servers,DHCP, attemping to connect to mapped drives on our file server. Can ping everything.

Cannot logon on to mapped drives on our business network.
"Target account name incorrect" is the error I keep getting.
