Before I had a router, I would play games, such as Age of Empires, that require your IP to have other people join games that you're hosting.

Then I got a router, installed it, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, and now my IP is the 192.168. whatever for the router's internal IP.

I know there's some way to bypass that and set it not to use the router's internal IP for certain programs, but.... how?

The best general resource for setting this up is portfoward.com (http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/AoE/AoEindex.htm). Give it a go and if you have any problems or questions lat us know and we'll try to help out.

PS. Its always nice to hear how things go (good or bad) and that geives future readers an idea of whether the thread will help them.
