Speedtouch 580 issues with setting up as hub/switch

hey people.

I am having an issue with my Speedtouch 580.

I got it from a friend and i want to set it up as a hub/switch (i already have a router).
So my first step is to reset to factory settings.

I have the CD but it forces me to set it up as a router, not hub/switch.

I connected to the hub settings, in hope anything there would help me out... nothing.

Please help me set up my Speedtouch 580 as hub/switch, thanks in advance.

Is this the ST 580 with the built in adsl modem? As far as the router part goes you can turn off the dhcp and reset the ip address of the router itself. You would also have to make that routers gateway the ip of the first router. This isn't the best way of setting up a network but it can be done. Now if this is the model that has the built in modem as well you may have to turn off the modem function as well but I'm not sure you can even do that. As cheap as switches are these days for stability and security I would just buy a switch.
