Install New Motherboard
Here is the Problem I install a New Motherboard PC Chip K7, after trying to boot up, it kept looking for a network card, I tried changing the booting order with no luck. So I took the hard drive out and put it in another computer with the same motherboard type, formatted and install windows 98 on it, took the hard drive back out put it in the new computer and install all the drivers, and the computer work fine for a few days. After the computer was left on for 8 hours it would freeze up, after I restart the computer it start searching for boot record saying cd rom and floppy not found. The motherboard is new plus the hard drive and ram (256) and I took some used parts from another computer like the Cd rom, floppy, one cable. I can put another use cd rom and floppy in and it work fine and freeze up again after 2 to 6 hours. The power supply and tower is also new, the new motherboard has on board processes, video card, modem, sound, Ethernet, USB
The Cd rom is running to a single IDE by itself And the Hard Drive is on a single IDE O also; I do not have the hard drive and cd rom on the same cable. Could the motherboard be bad, I have not tried taking the battery out and putting it back in If you have any suggestions please help |

What is the temperature this thing's running at? Try taking the case covers off and setting a small desktop fan blowing directly on the motherboard (they move more air than the case fans) and see if that wouldn't at least eliminate chipset overheating as a problem.

Thanks for your help, I found that the new hard drive was bad and i didn't have a jumper pin in the cd rom. I will run the computer all night to make sure it don't freeze up again
