I've figured out how an animated .gif file can have each image "extracted" using Irfanview, but once extracted, is there any way of "re-joining" the images?

Reason being, I have an animated .gif file that I'd liike to resize, but this can't be done through Irfanview if the file is animated, yet with the "extracted" images each one can be resized. :)

You would be better off with a program with good gif support.

Macromedia Fireworks will allow you to resize a gif without extracting all the frames first.

Paint Shop Pro's Animiation Shop will let you do a similar thing.

Also check out Gifworks Dave http://www.gifworks.com/. You should be able to do it online for free.

Thanks AnnMarie, I thought of that, but I remember having problems with it before, but it's a great online tool for other things.

I have installed GIMP, which also works with gif files, but I just couldn't figure out how to do any resizing, so I gave up then looked at Irfanview. Since Degsy's post here I had a look through Google for GIMP tutorials, and found that to resize an image you need to use the Scale tool, I'd never have thought that meant for resizing....LOL ;)
