I'm on a G3 iBook 800 MHz CPU with 600 something RAM and currently on OS 10.3.9. I have the Tiger CD install set and here's what happens. I put disc in, run the installer. It reboots and a grey screen appears, a folder with a ? on it appears for a second then one with the finder icon (The face) appears then it pauses a moment then boots from the HD into 10.3
I have set the boot device to CD, tried it. No luck. Pressed and held c when booting. Still nothing. I have enough space for it (4.9GB on my drive)
I don't know what to try.
:hmm:

Is it a retail Tiger CD?
Any other CD probably will result in what you're experiencing.

I'd say forget it. I tried installing Tiger on a G4 iBook 800 with 640 Ram and 100Gb Hd. It installed and run for a few weeks then it started to get flakier and after a month it iretrievably crashed, no other choice than to format and go back to Panther. I concluded that it was one OS too high for the machine.
