I upgraded my BitTorrent version yesterday (from 0.3.12 to 4.0.4) and had to forward my router ports and set up a static IP again using portforward.com (running XP Pro SP1). The only thing is that none of my torrents will connect. I left it running over night as many other forums said to be paitent but it still doesn't work. I'm downloading torrents reporting enough seeders or good health and my other P2P applications (I use Ares) work fine. I've got Norton Internet Security 2005 running and have already added the program to the safe list. I'm behind a Linksys router and again, have already gone through port forwarding and setting up a static IP, even though I had already done this previously (I thought that was a bit strange). I'll get a quick connection but my download speed never hits above 1kb/s and even with my previous version I never got anything above 5-6kb/s (I did have the odd 30-50kb/s spurts). Does anyone have any idea what is wrong?

just a quick question... how many firewalls do you have on?? you have Norton on the computer. Is the winxp firewall on? what about the one in the router? This could be the cause of your connection/poor speed problems.

I've got the Norton firewall running but have my torrent application active under its safe list, the XP firewall has been disabled, and the router's firewall is active (I always thought it was...I thought you couldn't turn it off). The router is a Linksys BEFSR41 v2 if it helps.
