Pop Up Blocker Menace

Downloaded a pop up blocker on this site a while back. And now it keeps blocking pop ups from links I have clicked on. Sorry have forgotten the name of the program or where it resides. Help is urgently needed. Thanks.

Look in the System Tray on the Taskbar (area around where the time is displayed) for an icon of the popup stopper you installed. Hovering the mouse cursor over each icon for a second should give you a description.

Once you've got it identified, go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, find the popup stopper on the list and uninstall it.

Or, if you want to keep the program, hold down the Shift key on the keyboard when you click on a link to open a new window. That should bypass the popup stopper. (If the Shift key doesn't do it, try the Ctrl key)

Thanks will try those suggestions of yours. Trouble too is I can't since downloading this blocker be able to view my "add remove programs" from Control Panel, windows explorer or display properties. Have I being infested with some kinda virus? A search of my computer with my anti-virus found nothing.

You might have spyware check for that if you have a spyware program.

Hi, I had the same prob,not any more,I downloaded the free blockup stopper and it is called Panicware, I find it the best and I have had a few,nothing gets past this one:o) If you want to download some thing from any links,all you do is disable it till you have done what you want to do,

Oh since your having all those other probs....try restoring your system........boot to DOS and at the c:/ prompt type scanreg/restore and restore it to the date before you downloaded the blocker

A very good blocker I use is Popup Killer and Tracks Eraser.

Tried to restore after booting to dos, but it seems system only backed up from November 01 to 11. It even failed when I tried to back up to November 01. Only option left now is to reinstall windows. Thanks y'all.

Do run a spyware program cause spyware causes all kinds of wierd things to happen. Hope re-installing windows works for you.
