Microsoft Excel - automatic look up/complete
I'm trying to create a fairly simple worksheet with data that updates automatically (or, almost automatically).
Basically, I have a list of 140 handlers with rankings that change weekly. And then I have a list of 40 judges and their top 25 preferred handlers. These handlers won't change from week to week. The handlers are also repeated in some judges' lists (Joe Blow might appear 10 times under different judges). I also would like to sort the 25 handlers from the highest ranking to the lowest ranking of the 25 under each judge, but that part I can do by hand, really. What I'm having real trouble figuring out is whether or not there's a way to have a spreadsheet with the handler name and the ranking that I update once a week. Then, I'm hoping there's a way that the values I put in once for each handler can be automatically displayed whenever that handler shows up on the judge's favourites part of the spreadsheet. Am I making sense? *grins* Any thoughts? Suggestions? Help?

Wow, reminds me of the ACT's. LOL. Sounds complicated, but I know you can use an Excel Book and use formulas throughout the sheets in the book. Since your question was real confusing you may know this.
i.e. cells from sheet1 can be used in sheet2 via formulas or data in sheet1 can be used in sheet2 to manipulate data. That's all I can gather from your question.

Hmm. Ok, so simplify it then.
![]() What I'm looking to do is to enter a value in a cell. Say: Joe Blow is the handler name and his ranking is 24.56. So I have Joe Blow, maybe four times in a list. Rather than enter 24.56 four times, I'm wondering if there's a formula to take the number I enter once and fill it in all the other times it appears. Did that make more sense? |

Hi adolwyn. I think I get the gist of what you want. Can you email the spreadsheet to me and I'll take a quick look.
