First go get a Win98 boot disk as it has CD drivers on it.

Ok when you turn the pc on what happens?

Several possibilites, CMOS has got corrupted(normally caused by the battery getting weak), you have a virus, , loose power supply, mother board problem(this is rare) and I wouldn't think both drives went bad at the same time.

So first thing get a new battery and change it out as battery life is normally only 5 years.

You can get to the BIOS by clicking on F1 while booting but you will need the settings for your computor to check each thing.

Exactly what happened when you started getting these probs? Did you just go to boot one day and that's the error messages you got?

Hi Becky. A little history of this computer will go a long way to helping us help you here.

Why are you trying to boot Windows from Floppy?
What sort of bootdisk are you using?

When the message about the invalid drives appears, is there a further message explaining what key you need to press to enter your setup. It may not be F1 (could be F10, Esc, Delete, or a combination or keys).

The battery will be close to or on your mother board. If you don't have a book on it's location, you can probably go to the manufactur site and find the specs on your computor or tell us what kind you have and we'll try to find it for you. F2 will get you into the BIOS. A floppy boot disk is all you need to get to a DOS prompt. Change the battery first before doing anything.
