I purchased a new micron pc which included windows me as the os. I have had more problems with lockups with me than I ever had with my old system using win95. My older system had less memory and I loaded it with a ton of programs, many of them shareware, and though it would crash sometimes, it is nothing like winME.
I want to downgrade to win98 and would prefer using an upgrade disc, not a clean install.
Will I be able to use a win98 upgrade to install over my factory winME, or will I have to use a full version of win98?
What would you recomend?

You can't downgrade at all unless you build your own computer. I hate that. I tried to install windows 95 on my computer, and then it said it can't install it. There is a hidden write-protection in the computer that cannot be moved.
