Using Windows XP Prof on both a Laptop and desktop. having problems getting my laptop to print on the printer hooked to my desktop. Can anyone give advice or info on better tutorial on this problem?

Make sure the printer is being shared and try to look for it on your labtop if you see it try connecting to it. If you are unable to connect to it then you problem is a networking one either the printer is not setup right to share or your network setup is wrong. If you are able to connect to it you shoudl be able to print to it.
but keep in mind if the printer is shared with users using different version of Windows, you may want to install additinoal drivers to enable it to work under different OS's
