Removing a desktop icon
I remember this some time back but can't find cure.
When closing Outlook Express 6, an icon with a tilda (~) symbol appears. I can delete it but comes back at next OE closure. Come on brainiacs, give me a hint. Better yet, tell me how to stop it.

Did you install a patch? From other tech sites it's caused by this patch and can be un-installed. Windows

Help. Custom.dic is back!
Help. Custom.dic is back. This is a real dic. The above links for a patch now refers to xp only. I have windows 98 SE ie6 sp1 and outlook express 6.
I can't find the updates installed it refers to and I can't find a fix through google. It was working so good as in not being there at all. What to do folks? I have not done anything in the way of d/ls or updates. Thanks......again.

Ok. Restored registry from yesterday and everything happy again. Funny but at same time this happened my extract.exe file in windows was changed back to it's original version which stopped my cabrest.bat from working again.
Restored file from windows\command to windows and cabrest worked great to allow me to restore the day I wanted. A hiccup? Thanks for looking. |
