30th Anniversary
Well as you all are fully aware, especially those of you in the Depe South and the sheep stations of the outback, next week sees the 30th Anniversary of the Recording of "Live at Treorchy". The opus magna that set that silver tonselled, gag-a-minute, curly mopped boyo, Max Boyce, on the road to fame and fortune.
For the opening event of "Treorchy week" as the Assembly Government for Wales have dubbed this 7 day national holiday, please join me, Mr Bean and Dohray ouside No 12, Barry John Terrace, Glynneath. The mayor of Aberflyarff, Mr Kenny Twat, will throw the first commenterative stone at the house of the styreotyping bell-end who ruined our formative years, forever condeming Welshmen the world over to suffer the ignominy bestowed on our fair and bounteous land, by this pillock. We will then progress to shoving burning leeks through the twpsyns letter box, whilst shouting Oggi-Oggi-Oggi and overacting the living daylights out of some very hackneyed and almost funny jokes. We will then move on to the Glynneath Rugby club, where we will embarrassingly shoe-horn some vaguely topical ad-libs into some of Max's more popular songs, making them even less funny. The week will culminate in a mass gathering the eponymous club, where we will ham it up for some obscure S4C culture programme, whilst sycophantically breaking ribs in howls of laughter at some mildly amusing anecdotes. All attendees will be offered the opportunity to by humourous memorabilia for only 40 guineas apiece, bearing such side-splitting logos as "I was there", "30,000 in the crowd, and me and Will outside" and "Which one is Will, Sir?" Personally, I think he smells of wee-wee and lives in a ditch, but there again I'm not at all bitter about him making our poor image even worse abroad (and as all true Welshmen will atest, Monmouth is where abroad starts) |
