Photoed.exec has been wiped from my pc which uses Windows 98
I`ve tried various "help" downloads but I always see the same message window saying "photoed.exec is needed to open and view this file.
The subsequent saerch results in the message "Cannot find this file"
Who can Help?

This will tell you how to remove the old PhotoEd association and then re-associate the file you are trying to open.

You can try to replace the file;

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162784/EN-US/

or try running the system file checker. You'll need the Windows 98 CD and the CD for Office 97.

Thank you gang, I`ll post the results of your advice, although I don`t have the W 98 CD.
Another source suggested using the , quote, "W. 98 Recovery disk" which I again, don`t have. Any thoughts?

Do you have Office 97 installed and do you have the CD for it?

Jmtjet was asking this, because photoed should be on your Office 97 disk and can be reinstalled. I found this link for directions....

You should also be able to use an image viewer such as Irfanview. It reads all those file extensions, as well.
