Ok go back to the DOS prompt you used to restore it (hmmm and that should have fixed it) but anyway go back to the DOS prompt and type in scanreg/fix BTW why did you do a restore? What went wrong for you to restore?

While booting your computer, keep tapping the F8 control key which should bring up the boot menu. Choose #6 and it will bring you to a dos c: prompt.
Now type scanreg/restore and find a date before this all happened, if possible.
Or, try the scanreg/fix as mentioned above.
Good luck.:michaelan

Make sure you have a space between scanreg /restore and/or scanreg /fix.

Ok brother Deltree. This is the absolute, positively, very last, and only last....
maybe, I'll say this: No spaces needed. Try it.:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Not laughing at you but with you. Actually laughing at myself to keep indorsing this when both work just fine anyway. It's my OCD kicking in.:dizzy:

P.S. dummydonna, you may be lost but definitely not dumb or stupid. Just not knowledgeable in this particular area. You will succeed. See movie 'Waterboy"? YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

No you don't need a space it will work either way. Another way to get to DOS is you should have that option when you shut down. It should say re-start in MS Dos mode. When things start running slow the first thing to do is defrag.
