Shell32.dll problem, someone please help

long story short, after i deleted my internet explorer 6.0 it said that i'll take me back to my original version and told me to restart my computer. so after i restarted it and after i get to the logon screen for windows it told me that "explorer has caused an error in shell32.dll, explorer will now close" and then that's it. i'm stuck with my background image and nothing else, no icons, no task bars nothing. now, i tried to extract the file from my windows me reinstallation cd that came with my computer and put it back into the system through dos (cause i can't log into windows) then when i went to go and see if it worked it told me that shell32.dll has been deleted and it says that i have to reinstall windows (which i don't want to do) my only problem is with dos, i don't really know how to use it and i think i did the extraction half ass. i also have the shell32.dll file on floppy disk if that'll make the situation of extracting it and putting it back into my system easier. please i anyone can help me out with this, using steps as to how to go about this, i'd kiss your feet for life. i've tried everything and have been to countless forums with little response. thank so much to anyone that responds to this. my email is warehouse22499@netscape.net

Peace,
Joe

This happened to me a few weeks back. I tried a number of things, including taking it back to pc world tho see if they could help but the only thing anyone could suggest was the re-install windows which i did. Fortunatly I had backups so i didn't lose too much. Sice this happened I am using ie 5.5 and don't plan to install 6.0 after the problems I had.
Sorry but re-installing windows is about your best bet.
