mac G5: dvd burner + limewire qs

hi, pls help...

can i copy/burn a dvd on mac G5? --

also, i have just downloaded Limewire but each time i open it, the mac crashes (and sounds as if it is now an air-conditioner). i've removed LW and reloaded, but same thing happening. i've used LW at work-office with no problems. any idea what the problem is pls.

ah, another thing...

when i restart computer it informs me that the computer unexpectedly shut down and asks if i wish to view and send a report to apple. each time i press 'report' and nothing happens.

Not to be rude but...GET RID OF LIMEWIRE! My friend got it, and it slowed his really fast computer down badly. He also got tons of viruses, spyware...you know the deal. And he had a tough time getting rid of all of the Spyware programs.

There are no virii or spyware apps for the Mac that I'm aware of.

Limewire, by nature is not a stale application, but seeing what it's used for, you can't expect it to be solid.

Review the help files on DVD burning Paul. Most third party software, like Toast, does a much better job with copying.

limewire progress (not)

thanks for comments.

however, Limewire has now stopped opening at all. i have removed the program and reloaded from the website, but still will not open. any further light appreciated.

I have installed it on an iBook G4, a PowerMac G4 and a Mac Mini with no problems at all. I can only assume that your Java is corrupt, since I have never had a Java problem I don't know how to advise you, other than to say I would probably back-up and wipe the HD and start afresh. You could create a new user just to see if you have the same problem in a new account.
