I would have thought that the software would have a "maximum simultaneous downloads" option or something similar...

What kind of connection are you on?

Is it standard IE?
IE doesn't have a download agent.

The two file limitation is a Windows setting for I.E.
You can change it by modifying the registry.

Open a text file.

Add this code

Code:
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:0000000a
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:0000000a
(The HKEY line should be all on one line).

Save the file as DownloadSessions.reg

Double Click the file to have the entries added to the Registry.

Open the File in Notepad.
Goto File>Save As
save it as DownloadSessions.reg

Then Double Click the .reg file to execute it.

make sure that you have the file saved as
DownloadSessions.reg
and not DownloadSessions.reg.txt

Open the File in Notepad,
goto Save As,
Click the File Types dropdown and select all files.
Save the file as DownloadSessions.reg

Then double click the file.
