I'm trying to debug my son's pc from long distance. He has a 166mhz IBM APTIVA that he's trying to install windows 95. (He had windows 98 installed and working) Don't ask... Anyway, he did a format C:
Now he's trying to insytall w95. He has a full version windows 95 CD. When he tries to install W95, he says the PC won't recognize his CD ROM drive. I'm guessing he needs a a boot diskette with config.sys and autoexec.bat and some CD rom.exe stuff. Am I on the right track? I need to create this diskette after the fact now. Any thought on how to create this or get a copy ??? THANKS !!! PAUL

^ that is a downloadable win95 bootdisk :)

If your son can download it on a friends PC he could unzip it onto a floppy disk and then boot from it to install win95.
