Unhappy GeForce Help

i have a GeForce 4 mx 420 nvidia video card and an asus terminator k7 computer and i have been having problems running it on this computer. everytime i install the video card disable the onboard card and try to plat counter strike, after less then ten mins a blue screen takes over my game and tells me i have to restart. i think it has something to do with how hot the comp is gettting but i can play on the onboard video card for about an hour before the screen comes up. do you have any sugestions y this may be happening? well thanks for reading this even if you cant help me. ps: any suggestions are welcome.

some people have problems with refresh rates, but there is a main problem with the half-life patch and the new nvidia drivers. It seems like certain people with nvidia cards are having no probs, and I dare say that they are using different drivers than the ones that are having problems. Personally, I use the 29.42 drivers since they're WHQL certified and are the newest official drivers out. Some people might have really old drivers that don't cause any problems at all. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that this is a problem that should be looked at in the next patch for HL and CS. There's no reason that a Geforce 4 can't get constant framerates in such an old game and on the Quake II engine. If a Geforce 4 lags like crazy when a lot of people on the screen, this game would be totally unplayable for people with Geforce 2 MX's. And oh yeah, go to guru3d.com for the newest drivers with refresh rate fixes. It's a great site. Have a good day.
