Internet NOT working, I think b/c of ZONEalarm

Hey.
My PC had a virus in it and I downloaded Zone Alarm for the time being, and then I purchased Norton and loaded that. My PC was working fine for a while. Until I unistalled Zone Alarm. I uninstalled it just like I was suppose to- (START-PROGRAMS-ZONE ALARM-DROP DOWN WINDOW SELECTION-UNISTALL). It went through an unintall process(wizard). And it was out. I then restarted my PC and my internet connection was OUT!!!! I called my ISP (Cox-cable) and they said my connection was running fine, and that my IP address was perfect. They ran through different processes with me and still no internet connection. They seem to think there is a file missing or something. If ANYONE can help me re-connect.....PLEASE DO!!!!! I would really appreciate it!!
