applets.inf

I'm trying to help someone at a different Board. He runs Win Me. I use Win98 SE. I wonder if I could impose on someone here to have a look in their install CD or Cabs to find applets.inf

This person is missing one of the entries in Add/remove Windows setup. I need to get the location of applets.inf so I can give him a batch file to extract all inf files from that cab to C:\windows\inf. That replaces all the entries.

If it were Win98 SE I could find it. It's Precopy2.cab

If you would go to find files>
Named: *.cab
Containing text: applets.inf

Look in Either C:\
or the CD drive

The search result will be the cab containing the files I am trying to find.

I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in Advance,

Mo

Thanks to anyone reading this. I had also emailed another friend who runs ME. He answered.

applets.inf can be found in Precopy1.cab

Hi Mo,

Ran the search you requested and found a copy in:

PRECOPY1.CAB

This is an HP...

Also founs a bunch of copies in the restore archives for some reason.

EDIT:....OOPS you were posting while I was searching...LOL

Thanks Maxx. I appreciate it.
Is this the replacement HP for your Win98 E machine?

Yep...same one I got when the emachine seemingly died. I was able to repair the Emachine and it is working great. I donated it to my Aunt who runs an animal welfare charity. In the meantime I am building a new machine. Should be done in about a couple weeks and will run XP.

Maxx,

Your Aunt is lucky. What a nice thing to do.

That sounds great. XP is so different. I always admire people who build their own. It will turn out great, I am sure. Good luck with it.

Maxx,
I visited the web site. That is a beautiful place and those cats are so cute. It's amazing how cruel humans are to animals.
