Web Browers freezing

Any link that will pop-up into a new window causes the computer to slow down (freeze) for a while and resume. I have a Windows XP and this problem is slowing down my internet activity and I have to avoid links with pop ups. Any solutions to this problem?

Try running Hijack This program and post the results in our safety forum, someone will take a look and see if there are any problems that may be causing this.

Also check you system for spyware/viruses.
