Cool Seperate drivers for WinXP & Redhat?

With lot of perspiration and with your tips I finally see the Grab duel booting option on my screen and able to boot both XP and Redhat. As I am new to linux, pl tell me am I need to have seperate drivers for: 1) CDR/CDRW combo. 2) for internate connection, 3) for printing 4) for sound/video etc. Remember I am novice in linux and pl be little soft and elaborative.

I already installed all drivers needed to run my PC in WinXP.

You shouldnt need to install any drivers for your cd-rom, depending on the typ of cd you put in, you may have to mount the cd drive before you can use it. That can be done with something like mount /dev/cdrom. Audio cd's dont need to be mounted however.

For your internet, if your using broadband it will probably be recognized automatically. Or you may have to set it up but you shouldnt need any type of drivers. I am not familiar with using dial-up in linux so Im not sure but you may need to get drivers for the modem, and hope that it is not a winmodem.

I dont have a printer so Im not sure of the setup here but I believe you will most likely need to use CUPS. So maybe search google for that to see if you find anything.

Alot of the sound and video cards will be automatically recognized so you will not have to do any installing of drivers. Certain ones however, like a lot of nvidia cards you will have to find the linux drivers for.

Hopefully this helped you somewhat

Joe
