Font displayed as 00000-0000

Using Windows ME on a HP machine. For some reason,, in certain places, fonts appear as 0000's.

Some of the places are:

- On "Windows Update" screen header
- MS Streets and trips directions printouts
(but only on my Epson Photo 1280, not on my HP 5L
- Start up splash screen of Pagemaker 6.5

I tried to reinstall ME and it would not save my system files and aborted. Not sure if this is related.

Everything else is great.

Any ideas.

Try updating your printer drivers and see if that fixes the issue.

Thanks for the reply. I did update the driver yesterday with no luck. I think I might try to uninstall the printer and see if that helps.

Did uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer work?

No, I removed the printer and still the same.

Changed any font setting I could find also with no luck.

Started up Windows in safe mode, thinking it might be a software conflict, still the same.

Any other ideas anyone??
