hey
i have a problem with my ie 6 and my internet connection
i had the same problem other people had when i opened the browser it made an illegal operation and closed and i tried resetting, using a pervious version and repairing but nothing worked , it still did an illegal op and closed every time , so i installed the windows version (5?) and now it works but now i have another problem ..i have win98 and im connecting through dsl and a broadband router and whenever i open netscape or ie
the internet isnt working, i tried reinstalling my network card and checked all the prefs but nothing works , my internet isnt working at all and when i tried the same line on my laptop it worked fine , i think its something about ports closing or something but no luck fixing it so far , can anyone help?

1) Go to file and make sure Work Offline is NOT checked.
2) Check to make sure the driver for the Network card is installed

Sorry i can't help you much.

Check to make sure that your Browser is using the LAN connection, not Dial-Up

Do you know if your Router is active?
goto Start>Run>
type WINIPCFG
You should see an Internal Network IP Address, such as 192.168.1.100

This should indicate that your computer has successfully logged on to the Router.
It may be a problem with the connection between the Router & Modem.

Try a Reset of the Router, and then maybe the Modem.
