In July I purchased a new computer (xp home). It now shares a desk with my old computer (was95, now 98).
The old comp is on dial up, so the new one is too. I have one phone line which they both use (not at the same time of course). Prob. is new computer connection speed is 31,200bps max (never more or less) but my old computer is 48,000+bps I don't understand. I have been on the phone 4 times with the comp. tech support people who I can hardly understand. It is very frustrating. The only thing that was accomplished was me losing my Pagemaker as a result of having to do a system recovery disk. (but Pagemaker is back now). Someone please help, my ISP said empty this & that, well, how can they be full? The darn computer goes so slow, I can't get anywhere, so I disconnect & use the other one. Please help. |

Welcome
![]() It could just be that the modem in the new PC is not of as good a quality as the old one. Otherwise check for new drivers as they could be the culprit.
