Opening links in Explorer

When opening links in Explorer to other webpages the Window will only open to the size of a small cigarette packet and I have drag the corner or use the maximise icon in the top right corner.

I was led to believe that the size I closed the window last time eg. full window, it would open to that size the next time.

Is there a way to always open the windows to the full size?

Running on XP home.

Many thanks.

The trick is to close the original window first. Close the window you resized last (resized by dragging, not by using the maximize button). Then all future secondary windows will open to the size and placement of that secondary window you closed last.
