Weird problem on more than one computer concerning a site being blocked to me

I hope I can get some help here. I'm really out of ideas for possible fixes

ok so my tale begins like this

I have 2 computers

One is a crappy 99 Compaq.
The other is a Gateway a friend put together and gave me which runs much much better than the Compaq.

However, I still switch between them because the Compaq has some things the Gateway doesnt.

I have a comic website on Comic genesis. I had just finished some work on the comic on the Compaq and felt like relaxing on the better Comp. I see that my site is still working on the new comp at this time. Everything is fine.

However I had been having some problems with flash displaying on this comp for months now and I was investigating this problem shortly after getting on. I uninstaqlled and reinstalled flash several times and tried to figure out what was the problem. Eventually I found the culprit. Mozilla's Adblock. I dont know how but somehow that got turned on to block Flash even though I know I didnt do it. Flash originally went out the second I tried upgrading to a new version. Anyway I disabled adblock and Flash came back

Later that day I rechecked my site
It wouldnt load
The status bar laoded about halfway and then said waiting for "emperoroforphans.comicgenesis.com" but nothing happened

I figured Comic Genesis must be down
I also couldnt get into my friends comic genesis's site or comic genesis's main page. I figured it was nothing serious. Comic Genesis had been down here and there before

Next day same problem. Still wrote it off
Day after that. same problem. Day after that. same problem.

This was the longest they had ever been down. I started to get worried. I checked google to see if there was any obvious mention of comic genesis being down. There was nothing.

Eventually, I asked a friend if he could get to my site. He could. And with ease. I asked another friend. He also could with ease.

Something on the comp was blocking everything comicgenesis on both IE and Firefox. I racked my brain for an answer. I figured something mustve happened back when I was messing with adblock but why would that affect IE?

At my friends (plural) advice. I deleted the cache and cookies from both browsers. No change. I deleted adblock. No change. They thought maybe I had some bad adware/spyware. I scanned. None found. Virus? None found.

I pinged the url in Dos and it came back okay. They said that meant I should be able to see the site, but my browser wasnt letting me. Nothing I tried resulted in any change at all. It still almost loads the site but just hangs there for literally 8 minutes or so before saying "the document contains no data"

Frustrated and out of ideas, I decided to check if the site still was working on the old Compaq. There was no reason this problem should be back on the Compaq. I never had any net problems with the Compaq crappy as it was.

So I get on the Compaq and load the site. It loads fine...or so it seems. Only the main page shows. I try to click on any link on my page and I start the have the same problem I had on the Gateway. I check comic genesis. the main page works now, but all their comic sites are now blocked to me like they were on the gateway.

And thats where I am right now.

Welcome

As you say, the Adblock utility shouldn't effect Internet Explorer.
Check the pages using a proxy http://www.anonymizer.com/

Are your friends using the same ISP as you?
It could be a temporary problem at their end.

There are a few things you could try
Use the ipconfig commands

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns

I called my isp
he had the same problem but said zoomtown doesnt block anyone. He said that my friends must have had cached pages, yet that couldnt been the case since they hadnt been there and weeks and I had to check out the different areas of the site which I know they havent been to anytime recently

However, the problem just sorta reversed itself without me doing anything later that day. Everything works fine now
