Flash runs in Firefox but NOT Internet Explorer

Hope you guys can help me.

I've written a basic flash animation. When I create a html file that references the flash file and then view the html file in Firefox I see everything OK including the flash animation.

However when I view it using I.E. I can see all of the page EXCEPT the flash animation ! ! ! ! (I just get the infamous red cross in a white box, where the flash animation should be.)

Does anyone know why this is happening ? ? ?

(additional info)

Here's my HTML code if it helps ! !

give the page link. Its easier to find the problem that way. Also try deleting the files in your temporary internet folder. Do you have any problems with any other sites that have flash?

Hi Dan - Thanks for the reply.

The link is www.millicancs.co.uk/index_ACM2.html

I think it might have been a issue with the installation of the flash player. It seems to be working now. But I'd be grateful if you (or anyone else) would check using I.E. and confirm that you (they) can see the flash animation OK

Works in Firefox. In IE I see the letters ACM but the rest of the animation doesn't appear.

You're missing all of the basic html tags and some table code. I don't know if that's the reason but you should fix the page and see if it makes a difference.

Hi thanks for the reply.

I think it was because "Flash Player 8" has to be installed on your computer..

Could you try it again and see if you now get a notification about needing to install Flash Player 8.

Many thanks

Works in IE now. I rarely use IE so never noticed there was an update for flashplayer available. Now all you have to do is get everyone else to install the upgrade.

Thanks for the reply.

Did you manually install Flash Player 8 or did the site tell you that you needed to upgrade ? ? ? ?

(I'm hoping that you got a message from the site telling you that you needed to upgrade ! ! )

I got a popup message telling me I need to install an upgrade to see the flash content.

I hope you plan to put a link on the page so those who can't/won't upgrade their flash installation can still enter the site. Flashblock is one of the most popular extensions for Firefox.

Good Point ! ! !

I will include a link to the site for those who can't / won't install flash.

Many thanks for your assistance.
