changing keyboard command

A question of convenience only.
I use a programmable mouse in which an additional button enables the “back” command when surfing.
However in some web pages the “back” command is not active and I must either click on the cross-box in the upper right-hand of the page or use the Ctrl+W click from the keyboard, both inconvenient in quick surfing.
I would like to change the keyboard command into something easier, for instance ctrl+x, ctrl+z, alt+x or similar.
Is there any tool which will enable me to do this ?
Please advise
thanks

There are utilities such as HotKey Helper which may help.

Bear in mind that some key combinations already have uses in Windows and other programs.
