Firefox problem

Hi I wonder if someone can help me with a problem I should be able to fix myself but for the life of me I cannot remember how to do it.

My son has made firefox my dafault browser and I do not know how to change it back to IE. Now when I open IE and type in a website or search it automatically goes to firefox. How do I change it back.

Thanks

In IE goto Tools>Options>Programs>
You can set IE to be the default there.

You may also need to disable the option in Firefox.
Goto Tools>Options>General>
The option is there

Hi
I uninstalled firefox and then I could not get internet explorer to work. it would do hotmail but it would not do a seatch i just keeps saying data not found. So I decided to uninstall nortons as I was also having problems watching videos and I am sure since my son installed Nortons it has caused problems. After removing it then restarting the PC I cannot get the pc to boot up properly. It will only boot up in safe mode. Im now on my laptop trying to find a solution to the nightmare that is my Pc. Any ideas ??????

Try posting in the CyberSafety forum to sort out your Norton problems.

I posted on cybersafety and you can read my posts there. I have resolved some issues and im now able to boot up ok but
I do still have a problem of getting IE to connect to any websites apart from hotmail. Everytime I put in a web address in the address bar it just comes back saying application not found. But it will go to websites via the search bar on msn homepage. Then when I try to go to the home address it wont do it it stays at whatever website adress is in the address bar and sometimes I have an error saying something like error unable to close down and about 40 tiled IE blank web pages start up. I have now reinstalled mozilla and that works ok( i had to download it onto my laptop and transfer it here to the pc.)
I have posted my hijack log on cybersafety forum but im not sure if they can solve the issue there ase this is about IE. If it can be answered there then I am sorry for double posting a problem Thanks again for your help

You could try a system file check, but it uses some of the same function as IEFix, so you may still have the problem.

I have tried that already it just kept saying please insert the correct disc. I have xp pro with service pack 2 but it would not read it and I know the cd rom works correctly I also have a service pack 2 disc that a friend gave me but that also did not work. I just kept doing cancel and again it installed some files but not all.
I have also logged on to aother user account to see if IE worked there and it did not I also created a new user account just in case my one was corrupt but still had the same issue with IE.
If I do system repair Im going to have same problems as I had once before with missing files. so I do not want to try that one again.
I have even tried to install a new IE6 but it wont let me it says a previous installation has pending work requiring a reboot. you need to restart your computer to complete that installation before running Internet explorer set up.
I know I could just continue to use firefox but I cannot do windows updates if I do not have IE. I am completely at a loss what to do now so any help would be very much appeciated

You may want to check with the CyberSafety or WinXP forums.

This is more of an XP problem.
