OE: 6.002900.2180(xpsp_2_rtm.040803-2158)
I cannot say, if that ‘behavior’ was always present but the following is happening:
Someone sends me some Christmas greetings.
These greetings are accompanied by a photo or a picture. Some times with a background color in the typing area.
And as I found out, some text is above a photo or picture and some below the picture. The picture is inserted with “Insert – Picture – from File or from Camera”.
It arrives at my PC - text in the normal space, but photo and background as attachment??

But when I forward that e-mail, the e-mail becomes as sent by the sender
no attachment! And
Background,
Text,
Photo and
Text as created by the sender.
So to see how an e-mail looks like in reality, I have to click forward – and then I see the ‘real’ e-mail.
What settings do I have wrong? http://images.cybertechhelp.com/forumimages/icons/icon13.gif
Thanks

Goto Tools>Options>Send

Check the email sending format. If it is Plain Text then no backgrounds or pictures will be send in the body of the message.

Also check the "Reply to emails in the format they were sent" option

hallo degsy, thanks for your response.
I created myself an e-mail with text above and below the picture.
The same thing happens: the picture arrives as attachment.
But when I klick Forward, The e-mail changes as I have created it.

My settings:
Format: rich text (html)
Ticked: send Pictures with message
Tools-Options-Send: un-ticked : reply messages in that format they were sent
Mail sending Format: HTML
What is wrong?
Thanks

maybe there was something:
in the part "Reading Messages" there are 5 items and unchecked was only
"Automatically download message when viewing in the Preview Pane".
Now I unchecked as well " Read all messages in plain text"
Let's hope ....

I sent an e-mail with the new setting to myself. No change.
But I did not re-boot the PC.
Must I re-boot?

Is there in the forum an e-mail address to which I could send an e-mail for testing and one could send it back to me.

Now I unchecked as well " Read all messages in plain text"

That should enable you to receive HTML emails.
You may want to check your Firewall or Internet Security software.

Thanks degsy
but no chance to get the true picture.
I even turned for testing my firewall off. No change.
I approached now spamfighter to find out, of how to turn the spamfighter off.
I don't think it's the spamfighter, but testing does no harm.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????
