need to save and move to a new computer my e-mail folders and address book currently in old computer using Outlook Express 6.0.
Where are they located?
I can find old stuff in Mozilla, but am not familiar with Outlook Express.
Thanks for your help. :D

To find the email store goto
Tools>Options>Maintenance>
Store Folder
You will see the path and can backup the contents
For the address book you are probably best off to goto File>Export> and save it.

Thanks Degs!
Found the files as you directed, but now have run into new problem:
The new computer has XP installed with MS Outlook 2003. Apparently, Outlook 2003 does not use the same repository for e-mail folders and address book as did Outlook Express 6.0 in old computer. Can you help with that? I would think the folder files extensions and address book extension be the same, but since the computer is new and no activity has occurred in Outlook, search of files does not yield results.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Outlook keeps its data...email, contacts, ToDo list, calendar...in one file, outlook.pst.
I haven't used Outlook in a while but I'm pretty sure it can import the data from the OE dbx and wab files you backed up...File>Import and Export.
Or you could just ignore Outlook and continue to use Outlook Express.

Thanks all for your help.
Your info helped me navigate through MS's Outlook site and I found how to save/export/import the necessary files. My friend's pc is up and running and he's happy.
If you'd like to know the process (somewhat lengthy) let me know. I left the process printouts with my friend and I won't see him until next month. I'll be able to pass on the info then.
Once again, thanks!
