Any help here, I'm stumped. I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless Router/Switch. Optimum is my provider, and I have a cable modem from them. On the Network are a Tivo, 2 Laptops, a desktop and a MacMini using Airport. All was well. I added a Sling Media box to streamTV, and as I want to move bigger files around, I wanted to upgrade my wireless speed. I got the Linksys WRT54G.
I initially attempted clone my original Linksys config, same SSID, same IP. All the devices on my Network could ping each other, the router, and the routers WAN-facing IP. Also, I can SUCCESSFULLY DHCP release/renew on the linksys. But, I cannot ping anything further than that. Then I tried to set up a differing SSID/IP combination but had the same problem.
When I revert to the Original Linksys, all is well.
Things I have done.. powered down for 30 Mins, then brought up the Cable Modem, then router, then my network devices. I have tried Static IPs on my laptops, DHCP release/renew ... Cablevision wont help with the router, and Linksys are blaming the cable modem.
I'm pretty much fried at this pount. Any help appreciated...
