norton will not work

i just got a new norton antivirus 2005. i have windose me. after i insall norton it want to updat and register then it downloud the up dates but says that it can not create a call back. and with out the call back it wont register and it locks me out of norton and then i try to run nortons self help it tell me my pc was lest on the factory sytem chech.what do i do next.
