I seem to be having a slightly different problem to most other people.

I have a Linksys WAG54g Gateway and a Belkin USB Wireless Adapater here attached to the Desktop which is running Windows XP.

Now i dont have a problem connecting to the network at all and the connection will actually stay connected pretty much constantly. The problems lies with the connection seemingly just dropping packets at a regular rate.

It leaves me unable to stay connected to mIRC or MSN for longer than a couple of minutes, which as u can imagine is very annoying. Ive tried various things but they all seem to be fixes for connections that keep dropping rather than the problem i have.

I ran a ping -t to my routers ip and it times out about one every 20 packets. I guess this is the problem but does anyone know of way to rectify this?

thanks in advance

Try tightening the aerial fully. I had a similar prob and my aerial wasn't fully tightened. Also try updating the drivers for your network card

It could also mean the router is going bad. Try another/ new one
