i am using windows 2000 professional and i got a virus which keeps restarting my computer everytime i turn it on. so i tried to put a new operating system on it. but the computer doesn't recognize my cd rom drive. so how am i supposed to install a new operating system if i cant get my cd drive to work?

If you have an older PC that can't boot from a CD-ROM drive AND you are not really trying to install Win95, then you may need a boot diskette with DOS CD-ROM drivers on it. You can get a Win98 boot diskette from http://www.bootdisk.com
