A friend came to my house and he brought his computer. But when we tried to play in the same game online as each other we couldn't get it to work. I am using a Netgear WGR614 v4 router. We both can play at the same time, just not in the same game. Just wondering how to set up my router or whatever needs to be done to fix this problem. Thanks :wave:

Ensure the Workgroup name on each PC is the same:
Right click My Computer->Properties->Computer Name->Change

well i think it is my computer that is causing the problems, when i try to click on View network Computers, my computer comes up with an error popup saying "Cat is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource, contact the administrator of the server to find out if you have acces permissions." I also tried using the command \\computer\share\, and it cannot find that path, thx again for the help.:wave:

Disable any firewalls that might be running on either machine (including the Windows XP Firewall).

Most likely yes.

If you can both play at the same time but just not in the same game/server this probably means that the game doesn't allow 2 players from the same external IP address. Thats what I reckon anyway.

He said the "same game online". So i'm thinking that are playing the same game over a network both online.
