Is there a way to make my computer stop storing temp internet files such as links, jpegs and gifs every time I surf the internet?

sort of
if you're using internet explorer
click on -- tools , internet options , advanced scroll down to security and put a check in the box that says empty temp internet files folder when browser is closed this will delete everything EXCEPT your cookies the reason i said "sort of" is that these files are not just stored in the temp internet folder. there are .DAT files on your computer thanks to microsoft that also store this information and can't be accessed easily. if you want to clear everything out (or just see what has been stored) try a program like SPIDER
