We just converted to 4 servers running SBS 2003 with one being the main SBS, one being the SQL server, one being a terminal server, and one being a backup server. We have 19 Pc's connected to network by RJ45. I am having a problem with Dcom errors. In the errors is identifies the PC's by IP address. I cannot find a listing of the PC's with their IP addresses. It is setup different than our old SBS 2000. I did stumble on it the other day but can not find it now. Any help would be greatly appretiated!

if all pc are on the same subnet i would use "angry Ip scanner" to pick up live pc and there names.

Since you hav ethe ip address have you tried 'ping -a <IP ADDRESS>' If possible it should resolve the hostname.

If all your PC's run off of the same switch and you don't have a list of IP addresses anywhere, you pretty much have to just walk to each terminal individually and check it's IP. (in the future it would be wise to assign a static IP to each terminal and keep that list somewhere on paper)

If you run off multiple switches or hubs you can find 3com's Network Supervisor (search 3com's site, it's free), and it will scan your network. You can find out which switch/hub it is connected to and that might narrow down your search.

Still if it's only 19 terminals, that's not so bad.

Thanks so much for everyone's help. I found a way to find the IP addresses of those who are signed on so I am accumulating a list. THX!
