Hey!

Two days ago i used a connection which was fairly good, so i had ordered a new connection a few weeks earlier!

Anyway to the question:

Two days ago with my old connection everything was fine and i could use my internet, online games everything, but now with my new broadband ive encountered a problem..

One of the onlinegames are running slow as [instert whatever].
Everything is running fine, other onlinegames are ok and are smooth but this one.
And no, its not the game, since my friends can play it without a problem
It used to take around 10 seconds to load the game, but now it can take all from 20-30 minutes to load it, and if im lucky to get into the game i can move for a few seconds then i freeze and cant move for minutes then it goes around like this, like huge lag spikes..

Anyone got any ideas what could cause this mess? And why exactly this game and not the others?

Any help is highly appriceated!

Sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum, hopefully i didnt!

Post back with what game it is also what type of internet connection you have ie "cable, dsl". Lastly if you use a router or just plug directly into a modem.

ah, sorry...

Its a simple 2d mmorpg 16x16 pixlar so the requierments for it is not high...
www.lothgar.com (lothgaronline)

Im on a router which is downstairs(im on 2nd floor) but i doubt its the router since everything else is working, its just THAT game that doesnt work...

I had (A)DSL before but changed connection yesterday so im not sure what i have now lol, but i guess its something similar, its a swedish company and its called something like "The Broadbandcompany"

Thank you very much for posting back with that info it should help us get to the bottom of the problem faster. Now for testing reasons can you play the game online from any other computer in the house and not have the same issues with it as you do on your computer? This would help us rule out the connection as a problem and maybe help us lean more twards the computer itself. Something you may want to look at since its a new connection is the NTU setting in the routers config or setup area. A good default MTU for cable is 1500 for dsl it would be 1400 to 1492.

I cant test it on the computer downstairs since its a Mac..
Thought, my brother just told me that we're on a temporary connection untill the real package arrives at the postcentre...and it does today, at 5pm my time so ill have to wait till then and see if it works with the real connection...

Ill post back and tell you if it works or not, thank you for the help so far!

Do you know for sure yet if its a dsl connection or a cable connection? Have you checked the MTU settings in the router?
