Device driver error

After reformatting( win98) Device driver errors occur w/Cd rewriter and scanner, what now? Do I reinstall device driver? How? MAssage claims "do not have device driver..something something

With the cd burner It should install itself, BUt the scanner you have to install the drivers that came with it. If you lost the disk post the scanner maker and model and I'll find a driver for you.

Some of the newer drives don't care for the Windows default drivers, so just go to the support page on the manufacturers site and you shouldn't have any problem finding the appropriate drivers - they usually also have a bit of an installation guide for most of these things, but if they don't, then post back and we'll give you a hand.

You can do the same for any device that you need drivers for unless it's quite old or the manufacturer just doesn't care or exist. In cases like this there are other places to go like HERE.
