Help

I was surfing the net and a pop up came on and said I was in an unauthorized area do I want to exit? So I did. I have not been able to use my computer since. When it tries to re-boot there is a blue screen that says it is 'dumping physical files' and it dumps files up to 100 of them and then tries to boot up again and this does this over and over. It acts like it will restart. It goes through the whole set up then that blue screen appears. I've been told that the memory is gone. Is this right and what do I do??

Also what kind of pc do you have and you have posted in the Win95 forum so are your running Win95? Dell computors seems to have a lot of bugs and this sounds like one of them but seems to be more of a problem with Win2000.

We've had this computer for 4 years. We've had no problems prior to this. We are using Win 95. I can't check for spyware if I can't get it to load up right, right? I also had to unplug it to get it to shut off.

Can you boot to DOS or safe mode? tap F8 as it's booting. Choose safe mode as the option.

If you can get to safe mode then go to start/run and type in msconfig then go to startup and take the check out of everything but systemtray then reboot.

In the meantime I'll see if I can find that problem in Win95.

Are you getting an error message on the blue screen after the dumping files message?

Something like this---STOP: c0000218 registry file failure
